cnoocy: green a-e ligature (Default)

Last year I posted some music I had generated by factoring integers. I've been thinking about it off and on since then and last night I got something that I liked.
1.1K MIDI 336K MP3 (Both are 14 seconds long)

I used a sequence of notes in the diatonic scale and turned composite numbers into chords. Specifically, the notes are (in half-steps from my base) 0, 4, 7, 10, 2, 5, 9 which essentially is a seventh chord then the notes in between. After 7 notes it goes to the next octave. I also sped the tune up by a factor of 3 and switched it (after much experimentation) to a Vibraphone. In addition, I kept it short enough not to get too high and ended it with a longer note on a power of 2.

I'd love to hear what you think!

ETA: I should mention that most of my changes amount to "do what [livejournal.com profile] mrmorse told me to."

So does this start with 2 again? What number are you ending on?

Hello!
This is [livejournal.com profile] aatish2's S.O.

I'm adding you to my f-list and thought I'd drop a line to tell you so. I always hate it when people add me and I don't know why or wherefore.

Now that A. is in the area again I hope we can get together again soon. (Not that his being here is strictly requisite for such a thing to happen, but I trust you know what I mean.)

A vast improvement over the original. :)

It reminds me of music for a tv show. Can't place which one at the moment though.
