Odd thought

Just finished reading Beowulf. It occurs to me that it has a similar structure to "Alice's Restaurant" in that:
Some friendly people go visit someone far away. Once they get there, they deal with some nastiness in their host's home, then come home for a dinner that can't be beat. But then they have to deal with something else related and unexpected, after which they have another dinner that can't be beat. They finish up their business and go on their way, 48 hours after arriving. Then we deal with an entirely different situation having only one character in common.
I think it would make a good pastiche, but I don't have the energy to do so right now. Anyone who wants to pick this up and run with it is welcome to.
