	1. Are there books that have had a particularly strong impact on you? What are they? Definitely The Tao of Pooh and thence the Tao Te Ching. And Lizard Music by Daniel Pinkwater. Thirteen by Charlip and Joyner. And certainly Story Number 1 and Story Number 2 by Eugene Ionesco. 	2. I honestly don't know you all that well. What do you think are the most important things for an acquaintance to know about you? I am often contrary. 	3. What language or languages that you don't currently know would you most like to learn? Classical Chinese. If it won't break the bank, and if I can get the right connections, I'd go to Cambridge to try to get the original (17th c, I think) Latin translation of the Tao Te Ching published. Though there's probably obstacles in the way that a month and money would not defeat. Quantum vult solvere? 	5. What's your earliest childhood memory? The earliest coherent one: I'm sitting next to my father, who is reading Green Eggs and Ham. At each page, I put the patchwork turtle I'm holding on his lap so he adds "or with a turtle" to the ways not to eat green eggs and ham.
