Boston Globe headline: At end, discord rules a divided body.
Which got me thinking. In a way, it was discord that has prevented an amendment from being passed so far. There's discord between supporters and opponents of same-sex marriage. There's also discord between those that think that civil unions are O.K. and those who don't want any recognition of same-sex relationships. And due to discord, the struggle continues and an amendment has not yet been passed to prohibit same-sex marriage.
Hail Eris!
