As I was biking home today, I approached two men walking the other way in jeans and sweatshirts, one of whom had a sword stuck in his belt. I heard the unarmed one say, "It's not OK! I'm traveling with someone carrying a sword!" At which point I turned to them and said "That's a cool thing." As I continued past them I heard the other one say, "See? See?"

I personally thank you for doing that. It is *so* annoying to see harmless idiosyncrasies (I am assuming, of course, that the besworded man had no plans to use the weapon on anybody) ruthlessly squashed by the overly conformant.

Oh, *that* was the problem. When I read it I thought the swordless one wanted a cool weapon, too.
