You've seen "classical chicken" and Beaker singing "Ode to Joy," right?

I look at this, and it just throws into stark relief for me how far astray the Muppets have gone without Jim Henson's guiding hand. There's hardly a(n original Muppet-Show) character in the video who, in a few short seconds, isn't shown to be a weak and colorless pastiche of his/her original self. Rowlf and a couple of the Mayhem are the only ones who come off okay.

Once upon a time, creative endeavors ended with the death of their creators. Nowadays, they keep churning on as long as there's a buck to be squeezed out of the fans who either live in hope that this time it'll be as good as it once was, or who've actually forgotten how good it once was.

Okay, carry on. But get off my lawn first.
