Two things

1. I'm trying to place a song. I think it's a female singer, with a repeated "da da da" bit that goes like this:
(dots being dotted quarter notes and dashes being eighth notes)
c. e- a. e- | d- e- f- d- c- b- a- b- |
If anyone recognizes it, please let me know.

I think that's the opening of "I've Told Every Little Star". The lyrics after the "da da da" part go, "I've told every little star/Just how sweet I think you are/Whyyyyy haven't I told you?" Does that ring any bells?

The lyrics didn't, and the snippets on iTunes didn't, but eMusic had the version by Linda Scott and the Hutch Davie orchestra, which was the version I was thinking of. Thanks!

The only da da da song I can think of is "Tom's Diner" by Suzanne Vega. I don't know if that fits your note pattern.
